SCHOOL UPDATE: – Week Begining 20th March

20th March 2020

ARRANGEMENTS FOR WEEK BEGINNING: MONDAY 23rd March 2020

Dear Parents & Carers,

As you are aware, the Government has asked all schools to close from Monday 23rd March to all children except the most vulnerable or children whose parents are key workers in this national emergency situation.

AT present we have NO confirmed cases of Coronavirus amongst our school community either amongst children, families, or staff. We do have some cases where staff/pupils are self-isolating at home due to either them or family members displaying symptoms of a cough and / or high temperature. We ask that you continue keeping us informed if you or any member of your child develops symptoms.

I am aware that some of you will choose to keep your child at home for the foreseeable future to reduce the risk of infection. This is your right and there will be no attendance penalty applied if you make this choice. We will however need to keep in weekly contact with you to make sure ALL children are safe. If you intend to keep your child at home, please contact us as soon as possible to let us know as this will support our planning arrangements.

I have attached a letter going home from all Special Schools in Trafford about their arrangements going forwards. Many of those schools have been closed this week.

At Delamere we have been open and would like to continue to remain open to as many children who need or want to stay at school.

However, in order to arrange this I need to be closed on Monday 23rd March and Tuesday 24th March for our staff to make longterm childcare arrangements for their families so that they can continue working and support the children at Delamere.

I know this will cause difficulties for many of you and I would like to thank you in advance for your understanding.

From Wednesday 25th March we will be open as usual with the usual transport arrangements for any child who needs a place.

However, our After School Clubs will NOT be operating after today. All parents who have paid for clubs will be reimbursed with immediate effect.

Please contact the school office with any questions or concerns,

Yours sincerely,

Sally Burston
