We have a regular commitment to providing students with one week work experience placements through Education Business Solutions as well as individual independent placements.
We have provided work experience for students from a variety of schools including Altrincham Grammar School for Girls, Ashton on Mersey School, Trafford College, Urmston Grammar, Salford City College and Flixton Girls’ School to name a few.
We have limited vacancies for work experience students so please contact the school as soon as possible to notify us of your interest by sending a letter or an email to admin@delamere.trafford.sch.uk for the attention of the head. Please detail why you would like to undertake your work experience at Delamere School.
We provide placements for Students undertaking courses such as Teaching Assistant courses. The length and nature of the placement is variable dependant on the course so please contact us to discuss this by sending in your CV and a covering letter or email, detailing your interest to admin@delamere.trafford.sch.uk for the attention of the head.
The same next steps for volunteers apply here with the exception that you will be asked to pay for your DBS check which is currently £41.
We have excellent links with a number of universities such as Manchester Metropolitan University, Sheffield Hallam University and Edge Hill University to name a few.
For undergraduates we can offer the two week SEN placement as well as the ten week year two placement or final year teaching practice where applicable.
The placements which are for a longer period of time we have found bring about the best value for both university students and our pupils. This lengthier time provides the valuable foundation from which students and pupils can build good relationships which are essential for progress and development for all.
We also work with students undertaking Master Degrees or PhD Research Degrees and value their contribution to the evolvement of Delamere School.
We are thrilled that some of our students go on to volunteer or work with us and continue their great contribution to the school.

Placement is upon a satisfactory DBS check completed by your university; this procedure is an essential part of our safeguarding arrangements.
All students will receive a detailed induction prior to starting.
