Updates

The children in Butterfly have been enjoying dance this half term. We have been listening to different pop music and increasing the tempo with each song played, we move our bodies and use scarves and pom poms. We like to  cool down at the end with some calming music and bubbles.

The early years essential text this half term is the hungry caterpillar. Butterfly class have been enjoying it as a sensory story, we have been exploring the different elements of the story and tasting  the different fruits. We tried pear and some of the children that have never eaten pear tried it. well done butterfly class.

Butterfly class loved exploring the snow. We talked about the snow and looked out the window then we wrapped up warm and went out to play. We built castles using buckets and spades, threw snow balls and helped to build a snow man.

In art butterfly class are exploring colour. last week we explored red, we printed with apples and made red marks both on paper with pens and in dry media. this week we are exploring the colour blue, we used our fine motor skills to use a spray bottle to spray the snow blue and we made marks with paintbrushes.

Butterfly class had the best time on our Christmas trip to a soft play centre.  We did so well getting on the bus and going somewhere new. We did lots of climbing and running and even enjoyed a small snack.

In Butterfly class we have been developing our physical skills by climbing, jumping and balancing. We have also been developing our maths skills by counting, exploring colours and shapes, whilst in the soft play area.

In Butterfly class we have enjoyed our Art sessions. We have started making Autumn craft, exploring different medias and materials and developing our fine motor skills

The children in Butterfly class had a fantastic time in our first Sensology session exploring each sense. we weren’t keen on tasting the lemon and lime but we loved looking at ourselves in the mirror.
